Family Treasures On The Auction Block

If you're an antiques collector, or just an admirer of items from times gone by, this is your lucky day.

One of the largest personal collections of late 19th Century and early 20th Century antiques is being auctioned today at the Cornwall Civic Complex, beginning at 10 a.m.

More than 500 items from the Foley Estate in Westport, Ont., are on the auction block, and organizers say there's definitely something for everyone.

"Just about everything you can imagine you can find in a home, it's here," said auctioneer Theresa E. Taylor. "Everything from turn of the century light fixtures and furniture to antique dresses and linens to crystal and china glassware and dishes."

There is no cost to attend the auction, although potential buyers must register.

"We also welcome people to come by and have a look," said Taylor.
